The job of a firefighter is a physically and mentally demanding position. Firefighters are expected to perform quickly and precisely at any hour of the day, during extreme weather, and during high hazard events. The community looks to a firefighter for their knowledge and ability to mitigate any incident. Firefighters are held to the highest standards of morality and integrity and viewed as role models to the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a United States citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License
  • Minimum state of Georgia EMT-I or AEMT certified

Must successfully complete the following:

  • Background investigation
  • Medical examination and drug screen
  • Psychological examination
  • Physical agility test
  • Interview with the Fire Chief
