Georgia Stormwater Management Manual
Volume 1 (Local Government Guide)
Volume 2 (Technical Handbook) 1,038 pages; 110 MB

Objectives:

Volume 1: To provide guidance on the latest and best post-construction stormwater management practices available to Georgia communities to minimize the negative impacts of increasing stormwater runoff and its associated pollutants. Building on the previous version, this updated Manual will help Georgia communities take a comprehensive approach to stormwater management that integrates drainage design, stormwater quantity, and water quality considerations. The goal is to provide an effective tool for local governments and the development community to reduce both stormwater quality and quantity impacts and protect downstream areas and receiving waters.

Volume 2: To provide guidance on the best post-construction stormwater management practices available to Georgia communities to minimize the negative impacts of increasing stormwater runoff and its associated pollutants. The goal is to provide an effective tool for local governments and the development community to reduce both stormwater quality and quantity impacts and protect downstream areas and receiving waters.

This Manual does not cover construction site sediment and erosion control practices. Guidance on these practices can be found in the latest edition of the Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control in Georgia.

Stormwater Quality Site Development Review Tool

The Stormwater Quality Site Development Review Tool is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet-based tool that is a companion to the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual. This tool allows both developers and local government review staff to quickly evaluate the water quality performance of stormwater management plans for proposed land development projects. (XLS file)
