Austell Public Works provides backdoor garbage and/or recycling collection service at no charge to eligible residents and to those with a physical or mental disability. Residents must apply for the backdoor service by completing an application and meet certain requirements.
Medical Need: Residents who have a medical need for backdoor garbage and/or recycling collection, an application will be mailed to you for both you and your physician to complete. You may also download the Application for Backdoor Service. This service is for those who have no family member, neighbor, or other person in the household physically able to pull cart(s) to the curbside. The form must be returned signed by you and your physician. Once we receive your application, we will process your request, and your backdoor collection service will begin on your next scheduled service day. If approved, an approval letter will be mailed to you as confirmation.
Back Door Collection Medical Need Application
Over the Age of 65: If you are over the age of 65 and have no family member, neighbor, or other person in the household physically able to provide this service, you may apply to receive backdoor garbage and/or recycling collection service. An application will be mailed to you for you to complete and attach documentation your age. You may also download the Application for Backdoor Service. You will need to return the form with the appropriate documentation. Once we receive your application, we will process your request, and your backdoor collection service will begin on your next scheduled service day. If approved, an approval letter will be mailed to you as confirmation.

Cancellation: If you no longer require backdoor garbage and/or recycling collection service, please notify our office in writing.
