Shawndra Williams is an Austell City Councilwoman representing Ward 3. A proud graduate of South Cobb High School and Mercer University, Councilwoman Williams was born and raised in the City of Atlanta before moving to Mableton. She has been a resident of Cobb County for more than 34 years, including over 17 years in Austell. She is a devoted mother of two sons and finds great fulfillment in serving and assisting others.
Councilwoman Williams is an accomplished entrepreneur with more than 27 years of professional experience as a childcare business owner and operator, licensed Realtor, and investor managing a portfolio of successful business ventures. Her career has been rooted in advocacy for families and children, providing her with a strong understanding of the importance of building solid foundations, fostering responsible growth, and practicing people-centered leadership. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Stages E.L.E.C., a Quality Rated child care center she founded over 27 years ago. In addition, she currently serves as Organizer for VenZen, a company that partners with organizations throughout the metro area to provide resources that strengthen staff morale, camaraderie, and positive workplace culture.
Councilwoman Williams also works closely with educators and parents to develop initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for students. Councilwoman Williams brings a unique blend of high standards, professionalism, and strong management and operational expertise, paired with innovative organizational approaches. Her background in conflict resolution, advocacy, and public relations reflects her commitment to building meaningful connections and achieving positive outcomes for the community. She has been instrumental in her community as a small business owner and through her service on the City of Austell Planning and Zoning Commission, where she supported economic growth and revitalization efforts. As Founder of Legacy 2911, she is currently advancing a project designed to offer affordable living options while promoting economic growth within the downtown corridor.
Councilwoman Williams is a member of the Cobb Board of Realtors, where she has been recognized by the association for being a top industry leader for outstanding achievement. She has also served as a CDA Professional Development Specialist for The Council for Professional Recognition, a leader in credentialing early childhood educators worldwide. Deeply passionate about advocating for families and children, Councilwoman Williams firmly believes the city’s greatest strength lies in its unity.
She believes that transparency, collaboration, and connection are the foundation for lasting progress and is honored to serve the residents of Austell. She remains committed to working alongside local officials, businesses, and constituents to improve quality of life and build a stronger future for all.
